Hi, I’m Wes, Care Coordinator & Operations Manager here at Blue Wave Behavioral Health. With a background in psychology and over five years of experience in care coordination and practice leadership, I am dedicated to creating accessible, inclusive, and thoughtful experiences for individuals and families navigating behavioral health care, as well as for the providers who support them.
I was the first team member to join Makenzie Wesner in building Blue Wave, and I’m honored to serve as a founding leader helping shape this practice from the ground up. I previously had the privilege of working alongside Makenzie and our founding team at Family Therapy Center and Teen Therapy Center of Silicon Valley, progressing from Intake & Office Coordinator to Director of Client Care, and later serving as Director of Patient Care at The Healthy Brain Center. What’s always stood out in working with Makenzie is her unwavering care, integrity, and commitment to her patients’ well-being—values we’ve always shared deeply, which made joining Blue Wave as its founding operations leader both natural and exciting.
In my role at Blue Wave, I oversee clinical operations and the systems that make exceptional care possible. This means managing our technological infrastructure, optimizing patient experience from first contact through ongoing care, and leading quality improvement initiatives that ensure everything runs smoothly for both patients and clinicians. I coordinate patient care across all touchpoints—from clinical services to lab and pharmacy support—and work behind the scenes to ensure our systems remain people-centered and aligned with our core values of connection, boundless tenacity, awe and wonder, advocacy in action, and ease. Whether I’m supporting a newly assessed patient through their care journey, streamlining workflows for our clinical team, or refining the systems that allow Blue Wave to grow sustainably, I always lead with care and a commitment to making things work better for everyone.
My support touches every part of the practice—from your first point of contact to the ongoing coordination that keeps your care connected and responsive. I help ensure that the experience of being a Blue Wave patient feels seamless, supported, and genuinely centered around your needs. Like so many, I have my own personal journey with mental health, and that lived experience influences the curious, trauma-informed, and empathic mindset I bring to this role.
When I’m not working, I’m most often exploring the Oakland Redwoods with my dog Pippin, cooking something cozy in the kitchen, dancing at a concert, or curled up on the couch with my partner and our cat Marley. I love working alongside the other founding team members as we build something truly meaningful here at Blue Wave, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
