Gurneet Pannu, LPCC (she/her)
Lead Therapist
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Hello! I’m Gurneet. I am a warm, compassionate, and solution-focused therapist who believes in the power of meeting people exactly where they are—whether that’s in their homes, schools, communities, or in our office. With over 10 years of experience working with youth combined with specialized training in neurodevelopmental differences, anxiety treatment, and life transitions, I bring a strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy that honors each person’s unique journey and empowers them to create meaningful change.
My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone has inherent strengths worth building upon. I specialize in adolescent and young adult mental health, as well as parent coaching. I’m especially passionate about supporting transitional age youth—those navigating the leap to college, work, and independent living. I specialize in working with neurodevelopmentally unique individuals and am currently completing advanced certifications as an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). I create a space where clients feel truly heard, understood, and safe to explore their challenges and possibilities.
As Lead Therapist at Blue Wave Behavioral Health, I’m honored to work alongside the founding team to build something truly special—a practice rooted in interdisciplinary wraparound care that meets people where they are. In this role, I’m helping shape our therapy systems and clinical approach while deepening my expertise as a neurodevelopmental therapy specialist. I’m committed to growing into a leader who can mentor and support future therapists as our team expands, ensuring that Blue Wave continues to provide exceptional, innovative care.
My approach is defined by bringing therapy into the real world. I provide in-home, school-based, community, and office-based therapy that allows me to see the full picture of my clients’ lives and offer support in the moments and environments where it matters most. Whether I’m helping a teen practice executive functioning skills at home, conducting walk-and-talk therapy in nature, supporting a family through conflict in their natural environment, or working with young adults to build daily living routines, my goal is always to provide effective, personalized support that translates into real-world growth.
I use a clinically eclectic model grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), drawing from various evidence-based approaches to create personalized treatment for each client. This includes executive functioning coaching, behavior modification and reinforcement systems, family systems therapy, mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy concepts. My work often focuses on helping clients structure their daily routines for success—building systems for time management, sleep hygiene, personal care, academic tasks, and household responsibilities. My natural curiosity and commitment to ongoing learning drive me to continuously refine my approach, ensuring that each client receives care that is both effective and tailored to their individual needs.
I deeply value nourishing my mind and body and find that mindfulness and nature are central to my own wellness journey. These elements influence my therapeutic approach, making it grounded, reflective, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when we connect with nourishment available in the world around us. When I’m not working, I love traveling to new places, trying new eateries, spending time in nature, and soaking in the simple joys of life.
